For real decisions

Fight Club is a Thinking Tool

You've already decided. You've been turning it over for a week, and every argument you came up with was quietly built to support the thing you settled on last Tuesday. You know this and it doesn't help.

So hand the other side to something that has no stake in your answer. Give one model your position and another model the job of taking it apart, then make them go at each other for a few rounds, each one attacking the weakest thing the other just said. Nobody gets to be polite and nobody gets to stop early. What comes back is the argument against you, made properly, sitting in a transcript you have to read.

Most people expect the verdict at the end to be the point. The verdict is close to worthless, and you should ignore it. What you keep is the bit in the middle where the objection you'd waved away on Tuesday gets stated better than you could have stated it yourself.

How It Works for Professional Use

01

Frame the Question

Define the topic as a debate. Assign each model a position, persona, or role to argue from.

02

Let Them Fight

Models argue in real-time, responding to each other's points. Use Referee mode to score the arguments every second round.

03

Read the Transcript

Read the transcript. The strongest arguments from all sides, surfaced and organized for your decision.

Pro Tip: Use Personas for Better Results

When setting up a fight, give each fighter a detailed persona. Instead of just "argue for option A", try "You are a senior corporate attorney with 20 years of M&A experience. Argue that this acquisition is a mistake." The more specific the persona, the more realistic and useful the debate.
